John W. Repsher, PT,  AT, C

John attended the State University of New York at Cortland where he received a degree in health and physical education in 1968, and the University of Pennsylvania where he received a Certificate of Proficiency in Physical Therapy in 1970. John was an instructor and Athletic Trainer at West Chester University in Pennsylvania, and later helped co-found the Berkshire Sports Medicine Institute in Williamstown, MA. John has also been active in skier fitness and developed the Ski Fit Profile that measured the fitness of skiers, which was used at Stratton Mountain, VT and a number of ski racing academies throughout New England.

John founded Repsher & Associates Physical Therapy in 1980 in Albany, NY. He has treated thousands of patients in the Capital District including professional, collegiate, and Olympic athletes. He is a published author, having submitted two chapters to the first edition of the A.M.A. award winning book Athletic Training, and has conducted numerous seminars for doctors and physical therapists across the country and in Spain. One of John’s areas of interest is rehabilitation of shoulder injuries including rotator cuff tears, tendinitis, total shoulder replacements, and reverse total shoulder replacements. John is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine, a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, and a certified member of the National Athletic Trainers Association.

Matthew Alheim, PT, Advanced Hip Clinician

Matthew attended Quinnipiac University where he received his degree in Physical Therapy in 1995. His areas of expertise include the treatment of orthopedic and sports related injuries, including total joint replacements, rotator cuff repairs, and ACL reconstructions. Matthew has completed the McKenzie Spinal Series, which addresses the pathology and treatment of spinal dysfunctional. He is trained in the Quadrastep System, which evaluates a patient's foot type and determines a specific pre-fabricated orthotic for different foot type conditions. Matthew lectures on a variety of topics including Overuse Injuries in Runner & Golfers as well as Low Back Pain at the Ciccotti Center. He is also on the Medical Advisory Board at the Ciccotti Center, where a team of local health professionals advise the center on different health and wellness issues.

Corey received his Master of Physical Therapy Degree from Quinnipiac University in Hamden, CT in 2005. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association; a certified coach through the Road Runners Club of America; a Certified MDT (Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy) clinician through the McKenzie Institute USA; and an Advanced Hip Clinician as awarded by the Hospital for Special Surgery. His areas of interest and expertise include general orthopedic conditions, sports injuries, and post-op rehabilitation.

Joyce Bettinger, DPT, Cert. MDT, OCS

Joyce received her clinical doctorate in Physical Therapy from Russell Sage College in 2008.  She received a degree in Biology from St. Lawrence University before her BS in Physical Therapy from SUNY Health Science Center in Syracuse, NY. She is currently a certified McKenzie practitioner with many years of experience in rehabilitation of spinal injuries and pain. Joyce worked as an athletic trainer at Cornell University and enjoys treating orthopedic and athletic injuries. She is currently a ski instructor for the Adaptive Sports Foundation for the mentally or physically challenged in Windham, NY. Joyce lives in Delmar with her husband and four children.

Steven Cornell, DPT

Steven graduated from Utica College of Syracuse University in 2006 with his Master of Science in Physical Therapy. He has worked extensively in orthopedics since that time in both outpatient and acute rehabilitation settings. Steve completed his Doctorate in Physical Therapy through Utica College in 2010. Steve has attended continuing education with Kevin Wilk, DPT, a leader in the field of Physical Therapy for shoulder rehabilitation. He has also completed courses from the McKenzie Spine Institute (MDT), Maitland-Australian Physiotherapy Seminars (MAPS), and the Cincinnati Sports Medicine Research and Education Foundation. Most recently, he has been recognized as an HSS Rehabilitation Hip Preservation Certified Clinician through the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. He enjoys the challenges of helping people work through a variety of orthopedic conditions. He also believes in providing patients with the toolset needed to heal as well as prevent injuries and enhance lifelong wellness. Steve enjoys music, reading, being charitable and staying active with his wife, son, daughter and dog in Clifton Park.

Stephanie Ciulla, DPT, AT, C, OCS

Stephanie graduated from Boston University with her bachelor's in Athletic Training in 2013 and her doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2015. She enjoys treating all orthopedic injuries, with a special interest in sports rehabilitation and post-operative rehabilitation. During her schooling, she had the opportunity to intern at orthopedic clinics in both Colorado and North Carolina. As an athletic trainer student she got to work with sports teams including the Harvard men's basketball team and the MIT football team, working to prevent injuries, triage injuries during competition, and rehabilitate student athletes back to sport participation. Outside of work, Stephanie enjoys hiking, playing and watching sports, and traveling. She currently lives in Clifton Park.

Tony John, MSPT

Born and raised in St. Vincent and the Grenadines in the southern Caribbean, Tony came to the US in 1984 on a full athletic scholarship in Track and Field. He received his Bachelor of Science in Health Science from Long Island University and holds a Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy. Tony's experience competing in NCAA Division 1 athletics gives him a unique perspective when it comes to treating sports-related and orthopedic injuries. He currently resides in Latham with his wife and their youngest daughter, and their two older children live in California.

Kevin graduated from the University at Buffalo where he received a bachelor’s in Exercise Science in 2016 as well as his Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2019. His path to becoming a therapist started in high school where he began to learn how the human body is capable of adapting to stresses placed upon it. His areas of interest include working with strength athletes to be competition ready and also working with those who wish to be physically active. Outside of work, Kevin competes in powerlifting and is a former NYS record holder. He also enjoys snowboarding, golf, and going to the movies.

Brandon DuBois, DPT

Brandon graduated from Hartwick College with his bachelor’s degree in Biology in 2015. He then went on to Sage Graduate School where he received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2018. Brandon also has a certification in personal training through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. His interest in Physical Therapy began at a young age during his various recoveries from sport-related injuries. In his free time, Brandon enjoys hiking in the Catskills and Adirondacks with his girlfriend and two dogs, rock climbing, snowboarding, obstacle course racing, and body-weight training. Brandon also speaks ACTFL Advanced Low Level Spanish.

Matt graduated from Quinnipiac University with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2018. He is currently a Certified Mulligan Practitioner (CMP), a mobilization with movement manual based therapy. He has attended continuing education courses on proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) via the Institute of Physical Art. His areas of interest are treating general orthopedic, athletic injuries and post-surgical rehabilitation. In his free time, Matt enjoys playing tennis, hiking and biking. He currently lives in Albany, New York with his wife and dog Basil.

April is a native of the Capital Region, growing up in Latham. She attended Ithaca College where she received her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science with a specialty in Sports Medicine. April joined the Repsher & Associates Physical Therapy family in 2008 as a receptionist and has worked various positions including Patient Representative, Assistant Office Manager, Billing Manager and is currently serving as the Office Manager. In her free time, she enjoys spending time at the lake, reading, and baking.

 

Jess Ackerman

Jess was born in Clifton Park and then moved to Latham, where she currently lives. She attended Kaplan University and obtained her Associates degree in Applied Science in Business Administration. She has been billing for various companies for 10 years ranging from dental to alcohol and drug addiction, and now physical therapy. In her free time, she watches and teaches her daughter to play softball. When softball isn’t taking over her life she likes to hang out with friends and family. Jess is a certified wedding and event management planner.

Eric has called the Colonie/Loudonville area his home since birth. He has worked in the customer service industry for over 15 years, and takes great pride in making others feel at home. Eric attended both Sacred Heart University and The College of Saint Rose. In his spare time, he enjoys playing the piano, belting out songs like no one is listening, live music, traveling, eating out, and spending time with his family.

Gabby Daigneault

Gabby is new to the Capital Region, she is originally from Alaska, but is loving the change of pace that the big city brings. Gabby attended Northern Arizona University, and graduated with a BS in Psychology and a minor in Health & Wellness Coaching. Before joining Repsher & Associates Physical Therapy, she was a behavioral interventionist and family teacher in an all-girls group home. Gabby enjoys traveling, listening to music, and bringing smiles to her friends and family through cooking.
