Repsher and Associates Physical Therapy utilizes a state of the art computerized balance system Designed by Biodex. This system allows our therapists to identify a potential balance problem in just two minutes of testing by comparing balance test results to age-dependent normative data. Once identified, patients can take part in a training program to correct functional deficits in their balance.

The Biodex Balance System is also employed in our Senior Rehabilitation Program. Addressing the needs of the older adult requires knowledge of the complex physiology of this population. Our therapists work on age-related diseases by improving mobility and balance, addressing fall risk, developing muscle tone, and increasing agility.

The Balance System is also able to provide exercises for neuro-rehabilitation, which are geared toward improving strength, range of motion, gait, and balance for those patients suffering from neurological disorders associated with Parkinson's, Stroke, Peripheral Neuropathy, and Vestibular Disorders. Our therapists can capture, quantify, and document a patient's relative tendency to overcompensate to one side or the other. This information often determines the true course of treatment.

The Biodex Balance System can also help Orthopedic and Sports Medicine patients improve their performance, largely by documenting weakness and challenging patients to improve. The various test modes evaluate the athlete in a static or dynamic environment and generate objective documentation of the results.
